Week 1 & 5
Day 1: Science Sunday – Gases
In this session we will be making fizzy cloud dough. We will do some scientific experiments exploring chemical reactions that produce gases.
Day 2: Messy Monday – Let’s unleash the artist within as we try pendulum painting! Remember this is Messy Monday so a change of clothes is advised.
Day 3: Tech Tuesday – Exploring the fascinating world of wearable tech where we will be making our own sewable circuits.
Day 4: Wacky Wednesdays – Do you have quick reactions? Are you light on your feet? Complete our ninja training camps to discover your inner ninja.
Day 5: Treasure Hunt Thursdays – This week we will have our very own pirate treasure hunt.
Week 4 & 8 : Future Era
Day 1: Ocean Floor Mapping – Exploring the ecosystem of our ocean through its residents and imagining what kinds of creatures might be lurking in the deepest parts of the ocean
Day 2: Solar Power Industry – Making a solar oven
Day 3: Humans on Mars – Building a mars colony – what are the important things you will need to survive on mars
Day 4: Super Humans – Exploring the incredible things the human body can do through a series of challenges
Day 5: Life Beyond Earth – The younger group will be making their own aliens while the older group will make microbit communication devices.
Week 3 & 7 : Contemporary Era
Day 1: Information Age 1 – Older group will make a musical punch wheel and the younger group will make QR code greeting cards.
Day 2: Information Age 2 – Explore Robotics
Day 3: Space Age – Rocket design for the younger groups and a space lander activity for the older group
Day 4: Imagination Age – Making your own superhero
Day 5: Environmental Movement – Learning about recycling through paper making and exploring water pollution and how to filter dirty water
Week 2 & 6 : Modern Era
Day 1: Ottoman Empire – Making Radial prints on Tote bags
Day 2: Industrial Revolution – Making small machines – younger group will make spinning art machines and the older group will make a pneumatic engine
Day 3: World War 1 – Making a periscope
Day 4: Great Depression – Getting resourceful and making something out of nothing – we will make sack clothes and learn about repairing and fixing broken items
Day 5: Golden Age of Piracy – A treasure hunt
Week 1 & 5 : Prehistoric and Ancient Era
Day 1: Jurassic Period – Make your own prehistoric landscape
Day 2: Stone Age Cave drawings – Making your own pigment from nature and making cave drawings
Day 3: Viking Age – Make your own Shield and mini ‘Battle’ the older group will make catapults and the younger group will make helmets
Day 4: Ancient Egypt – Learn about mummification and solve some hieroglyphic puzzles
Day 5: Ancient Greece – Making Puppets
