Space lovers will be mesmerised by the incredibly accurate replica of the moon created by world-renowned Artist Luke Jerram by fusing imagery from detailed NASA pictures of the lunar surface.

At the heart of the exhibition is a breathtaking 5-metre replica of the moon, created by world-renowned artist Luke Jerram using highly detailed NASA imagery of the lunar surface. Suspended in a darkened space, the glowing moon invites families to pause, look up, and experience the wonder of the universe up close.

New For 2026

OliOli Museum Of The Moon - Artemis II Mission

This year, visitors can also explore a curated display of photographs from NASA’s Artemis II mission – the historic crewed lunar flyby that launched in April 2026, sending astronauts around the Moon for the first time in over 50 years – bringing families closer to humanity’s ongoing journey into space!

Prepare your visit to the Moon with these Fun Facts:
  • We only ever see one side of the moon because the moon and the earth are “tidally locked”. The moon spins at the same rate that it goes around the earth, so a moon day is 27 days long and it also takes 27 days to go around the earth.
  • The Moon is a key element of Islam because at the sight of the new crescent moon we know that the month of Ramadan is over, and we can celebrate Eid!
  • With a powerful telescope, you can see the equipment astronauts have left behind on the moon – and with a REALLY powerful telescope, you can still see the astronaut’s footprints on the surface!
  • Seven countries have sent spacecrafts to the moon including: the USSR, USA, Japan, Europe (as a team), India, China and Israel.
  • Only 12 people have walked on the surface of the moon. The last person to walk on the moon did so on 14th December 1972 – so we haven’t returned in almost 50 years! Perhaps you will get the chance to visit the moon some day in the future…
  • The moon is 400,000 kilometres away from earth and it takes 3 days by rocket to reach it. If it was possible, it would take you 9.5 years to walk to the moon – that’s if you never stopped for a break!
  • You would have to stack 450,000 Burj Khalifas on top of each other to reach the moon!
  • The moon’s diameter is 3475 km (about a quarter the size of the Earth).

  • For most of history, the moon was people’s only night time source of light. It was used to help travellers navigate and allowed people to work.
  • The lunar calendar is a time-keeping system in which each month corresponds to the 29.5-day lunar cycle, which is the length of time that it takes for the moon to orbit the Earth. During the lunar cycle, the phase of the moon is tracked by its shape – the portion of the moon that is illuminated by the Sun from our vantage point of Earth.
  • On the surface of the Moon you can jump 6 times higher than you can on Earth.

We look forward to welcoming you to this mesmerising experience!
