Cars & Ramps turns building and racing into one big hands-on experiment. Kids can design their own cars, send them speeding down our giant ramps and discover what happens when they change the wheels, weight or design.
Every race is another chance to test an idea, learn from what happened and try again – encouraging kids to think like engineers while having plenty of high-speed fun.
Cars & Ramps offers hands-on fun for a wide range of ages.
Kids can build, race and experiment at their own level, whether they’re discovering the excitement of sending a car down the ramp or getting more curious about how different designs affect its speed and movement.

Through open-ended experimentation, children naturally build critical thinking, creativity, problem-solving and engineering skills while exploring scientific concepts including air pressure, lift, gravity, thrust, drag, aerodynamics and motion.
Every experiment encourages them to make predictions, test ideas and discover how invisible forces shape the world around us.
What Parents Ask
Cars & Ramps is a hands-on building and racing gallery where kids can design their own cars before testing them on giant tracks and ramps. By changing their designs and racing again, children can see for themselves how different choices affect the way their cars move.
Cars & Ramps can be enjoyed by children across a range of ages and abilities. Younger kids can experience the simple excitement of building and racing, while older children can experiment more deeply with their designs and challenge themselves to improve their results.
Kids can build cars, choose different components, race them down giant ramps and take on challenges such as jumps and the hoop of fire. They can then adjust their creations and race again to see whether their changes make a difference.
All OliOli® tickets give you time to explore our permanent galleries at your own pace. Children typically spend around 20 minutes in each gallery, although this varies depending on what captures their curiosity. If you’d like more time to explore, extra-hour tickets are available to purchase on-site.
Absolutely! Grown-ups can build alongside their children, compare different designs and challenge the whole family to see whose creation makes it furthest down the track.

On your marks! Get set! Go! The Cars and Ramps Gallery is a space where kids can design and engineer their own cars to race or jump over our towering ramps. Challenge friends and family to build, test, modify and race their cars on our tracks again and again.
Your child will explore fundamental principles of physics like acceleration, gravity, mass, friction and laws of motion. The trial and error process of building and racing their own cars is also a rich experience that supports the development of critical thinking, motor skills and healthy levels of risk taking.
