In our Water Gallery, children experiment, create and play with one of nature’s most fascinating forces. From building waterways to launching boats and making giant splashes, every visit is filled with hands-on exploration and joyful discovery.

Whether you’re introducing your toddler to the magic of water play or watching an older child engineer the perfect waterway, Water Gallery offers something for every curious explorer.
What to bring:
We provide raincoats for children, but getting wet is all part of the Water Gallery fun!
We recommend bringing a towel and change of clothes so they can splash, experiment and explore comfortably.
Through open-ended exploration, children naturally develop creativity, collaboration, critical thinking, problem-solving and fine motor skills while discovering scientific concepts such as flow, gravity, buoyancy, water pressure, currents, force and cause-and-effect.
Every splash, stream and experiment encourages children to observe, ask questions and discover how water shapes the world around them.
Yes! Water Gallery is designed for hands-on water play, so there’s a good chance your little explorer will get wet. We recommend bringing a change of clothes so they can stay comfortable after their visit.
Every visit is a new adventure! Kids can build dams and waterways, clean the much-loved Beetle, launch colourful balls through the Ball Cannon, dance beneath the indoor rain, create fountains and discover how water moves, flows and behaves through hands-on play.
A standard visit lasts around 2 hours, with families enjoying each gallery at their own pace. There’s no rush – explore, play and revisit your favourite experiences as many times as you like.
Yes! Water Gallery is a wonderful introduction to sensory and exploratory play. Many exhibits are perfect for younger children to enjoy alongside a parent or caregiver.
Because every visit is different. Some children spend their time engineering elaborate waterways, while others simply love splashing, experimenting and seeing what happens next. With no single way to play, every child creates their own adventure.

One of our most popular areas with over 10 interactive hands-on activities, the Water Gallery is all about splashing about and experiencing how water behaves. Dance in the rain, play with a water vortex, fire a ball cannon, or wash a real car – from simple day-to-day play to scientific experimentation, there’s gallons of fun for all ages.
Building on a child’s natural fascination for water-play, we help them learn about the power and motion of the planet’s most remarkable resource. Along with rich opportunities to explore the natural world and scientific principles (vortices, buoyancy, density, pressure, gravity, and so on), every experience will also support your child’s social skills, critical thinking and gross motor skills.
